Background
Riky Rick was more than one of South Africa's most influential musicians; he was a cultural icon whose words inspired an entire generation.
In February 2022, the country mourned his passing after he lost his battle with mental illness. Just days before his death, he shared a final message on social media: "I'll return a stronger man."

His passing left a profound void, but his legacy of uplifting and encouraging young people continued to resonate. To honour his voice and continue the conversations he championed, we explored a way for his message to live on by transforming his own words into one final message of hope.
The Idea
In partnership with the Riky Rick Foundation, we created Stronger, a song built entirely from Riky Rick's own words.
By carefully curating lyrics from his past interviews, social media posts, and public messages, and using AI to recreate his voice, we transformed his legacy into one final anthem of hope.

Released through the Riky Rick Foundation, Stronger continues the conversations Riky cared deeply about, encouraging young people to prioritise their mental well-being.
Every stream of the song supports organisations working to improve mental health awareness and access to care across South Africa, ensuring his impact lives on far beyond the music.
